朱栈 Red Chamber

he collaboration with RED CHAMBER marks an important exploration into the field of cross-disciplinary design.

During the early stages of the project, significant effort was devoted to understanding RC’s brand philosophy. Fashion-related products often carry strong cultural attributes, making the challenge of translating RC’s values into product form a central part of the design process.

In the design of this foundation bottle, the form was envisioned with a greater sense of vitality, moving away from the static impression of conventional foundation packaging. Through the use of organic curves and the varying translucency created by different glass thicknesses, the bottle conveys a sense of tension as it extends outward to both sides. At the same time, the interdependent relationship between the bottle body and the cap reflects RC’s philosophy of the mutual reliance between humanity and nature.

A fading line detail was introduced at the shoulder of the bottle, creating a sharp highlight surface within the otherwise rounded form. Combined with the texture of the foundation and the varying thickness of the glass, this detail captures subtle shifts of light as it moves across the surface. Meanwhile, the asymmetrical structure preserves a slight sense of instability within an overall balanced form, while also providing a more comfortable grip for a larger-capacity bottle.

When the bottle is gently picked up and rotated, subtle changes in form gradually reveal themselves, creating a sense of slow movement, almost as if the object possesses its own breathing rhythm. The intention is for users to experience this delicate aesthetic during every interaction with the product — whether holding, opening, closing, or simply observing it — allowing the beauty of the object to naturally become part of the process of makeup and self-expression.
