A borrowed scene
This design uses the window frame of the Suzhou gardens to present the concept of “A Borrowed Scene”. The elements arranged in different depths of field highlight the three-dimensional feature of Su embroidery, allowing more interaction between the work and the audience.
In addition to the well-organized static elements, the design is also given functional appeal as the designer has rich experience in designing European lighting products. The bottom frame serves as an opening to hold flower sprigs or dead branch that present a contrast to the still embroidered butterflies, resulting in a complementary picture of three-dimensional objects and two-dimensional patterns.
